This website provides updates and information on the search for 10th chancellor of the University of Minnesota Duluth. University of Minnesota Interim President Jeff Ettinger announced a national search for UMD’s next leader. UMD Chancellor Lendley Black retired in summer 2022. Since then, Dave McMillan has been serving as the interim chancellor.
On March 27, 2024 the University of Minnesota announced Dr. Charles Nies as the next chancellor of UMD, pending approval by the University of Minnesota Board of Regents in May 2024.
